SUMMATION MEETING OF DAK LAK SECTOR OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM IN 2017 AND TASK DEPLOYING IN 2018
On January 18th 2018, at the meeting hall of Dak Lak Museum, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a meeting to summarize the work in 2017 and deploy tasks in 2018.
Attending the meeting chaired by the Director Board of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism were Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, the Provincial Committee cum the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of related departments and Sectors; leaders of the Culture and Information Offices of districts, towns and cities; leaders of departments and institutions under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and civil servants and laborers of the Office of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In 2017, the Sector of Culture, Sports and Tourism successfully fulfilled the targets, plans and assigned tasks, which actively contributed to socio-economic development and preservation of ethnic cultures in the area. Various cultural activities are organized to serve the political tasks of the province. For example, successful organization of the content assigned at the 6th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival and Central Highlands Gong Culture Festival in 2017; Countdown Festival, Dak Lak welcomed New Year 2018; Gong Culture Show served the local people and visitors in 2017; two relics have been ranked as the national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; one relic has been ranked as the provincial relic by the Provincial People's Committee; the conservation and promotion of tangible cultural values is also focused; five bronze drums were restored successfully to serve for the research, conservation and exhibition of the Dak Lak Museum. High-achievement sports won one hundred and forty national medals (thirty-four gold medals, forty-five silver medals and sixty-one bronze medals); eight international medals (two gold medals, one silver medal, five bronze medals).
Tourism trade activities increased quite, the total number of visitors is estimated at 703,000 visitors, reaching 100.43% of the plan, up 13.20% over the same period in 2016; Turnover was estimated at VND 610 billion, up 1.67% against the plan and up 27.08% over the same period of 2016. The movement of all people uniting to build a cultural life continues to be intensively implemented. The number of new rural culture standardized communes are 30 communes, increasing 20% compared to 2016; The rate of the population of villages, hamlets and population groups reached 76%; the rate of cultural standardized families reached 84%; The rate of cultural standardized agencies, institutions and enterprises reached 91%. The activities of cultural and sport propaganda are widely organized from province to grassroots level, so they contributed to create a cheerful atmosphere among the people, encourage the Sectors, levels and people in the province to implement successfully the task of economic and social development, and ensure security and defense in 2017. In 2018, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector set a number of targets such as welcoming about 810,000 tourists with the turnover reached 750 billion; 76% of villages, street population groups meet cultural standards; 85% of families meet cultural standards; 29% of the participants regularly practice exercises; continuing organizing the remaining subjects of the 8th Provincial Sports Festival; participating in organizing and competing in national sports tournaments; developing community tourism; and strengthening the promotion of tourism potential of the province. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee recognized and highly appreciated the results of the Sector of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which contributed positively to the socio-economic development of the province. At the same time, it was suggested that this sector in 2018 should closely monitor the Government's Resolution 1, the key tasks assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the province to carry out the task as well as develop focused programs. In the field of culture, it is necessary to strengthen the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, to pay attention to developing projects on restoration, conservation and improvement of state management effectiveness. Especially, the management of festivals to improve the quality of counseling for the 7 th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, prepare for the organization of the 8th Dak Lak Sports and Physical Festival, host the first National Football League matches in 2018, promote tourism advertisement and promotion, boost education of morality and family life, and strengthen the preservation and promotion of cultural values of ethnic peoples in the province. With achievements in 2017, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the leading institution of the Emulation Blocks of the Central Highlands Provinces. Two Cultural and Information Divisions, Krong Nang district and Buon Ho town, were awarded the Emulation Flag. Seven collectives and three individuals who recorded outstanding achievements in building and organizing cultural, sports and tourist activities in their localities were awarded certificates of merit. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to fifty-six collectives and twenty-seven individuals who made outstanding contributions to the development of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector in 2017 and thirty-two collectives and one hundred and six individuals who made outstanding achievements in the implementation of tasks in 2017.
