OPENING THE TEMPORARY EXHIBITION "TRADITIONAL COSTUMES OF THE PEOPLES IN DAK LAK"

On March 8th, 2023, Dak Lak Museum held the opening ceremony of temporary exhibition "Traditional costumes of peoples in Dak Lak".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Thai Hong Ha, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Le Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training; Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Vietsoftpro Corporation; Leaders of departments and units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and press agencies to join and tell the news.

Dak Lak is a joint roof of 49 ethnic groups residing together. Coming from all regions of the country, each ethnic group has their own nuance that has created a uniquely unified picture of Dak Lak's colorful culture. Along with the language, writing, the traditional costume of ethnic groups is a sign of ethnic identity, a cultural heritage imbued with national identity, containing artistic and historical values, existing and developing through the process of work and creativity.


The temporary exhibition “Traditional costumes of the peoples in Dak Lak” gathering 45 images and 130 artifacts, aims to introduce, honor and spreading the unique features of culture and life of ethnic communities living in Dak Lak. Combined with the display are fascinatingly experiential activities that enable visitors to get more understanding about a process of the Ede’s weaving and making decoration carried out by artisans from Tong Bong Weaving Cooperative, Buon Ma Thuot city, cooking together with the artisans and enjoying some traditional dishes of the Ede.

Temporary exhibition “Traditional costumes of peoples in Dak Lak" is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory, liberating Dak Lak province (March 10th, 1975 - March 10th, 2023), and respond to the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023, contributing to introduce, honor and spread the traditionally cultural and aesthetic values of the Vietnamese community in general and the peoples in Dak Lak in particular. At the same time, it aims to propagate and improve the roles and responsibilities of the community and the young generation in preserving and promoting their value of traditional costumes, contributing to the enrichment and diversity of culture of the Vietnamese great family, creating a premise for building a richer and stronger homeland.
