CHILDREN'S PICTURE EXHIBITION “HAPPY ELEPHANTS IN MY HOMETOWN” AT DAK LAK MUSEUM
The image of big mighty elephants is a symbol of vitality, nature and culture in the majestic plateau.
In order to create a space for visitors to have the opportunity to learn about the image of elephants in the Central Highlands culture from an interesting and humane perspective of the students. Animal Foudation Asia cooperated with Young Board of Buon Don District and Dak Lak Museum to organize a children's picture exhibition "Happy elephants in my hometown".
The displayed pictures are the awarded works in a drawing contest held for all youth and the Young studying in Buon Don district in February 2023.
The exhibition is opened to visitors from March 15th, 2023 at Dak Lak Museum.
Currently, Dak Lak only has 37 domestic elephants (tamed elephants), who are getting old and weak; meanwhile not a single baby elephant has been born successfully during the past 30 years. The exhibition brings a unique and authentic perspective of the students about happy elephants, thereby sending a message about protecting elephants. It is also contribute to raise the public’s awareness of preserve and improve welfare for domestic elephants in Dak Lak by targeting traditional elephant-friendly activities.
